HERSHEY ACQUIRES DEFENSEMEN TIM WEDDERBURN AND TROY MILAM FROM CHICAGO WOLVES

DEFENDING CHAMPIONS ADD TWO BLUELINERS PRIOR TO AHL CLEAR DAY DEADLINE, TREVOR BYRNE LOANED BY WASHINGTON CAPITALS TO WOLVES

HERSHEY ? The 2006 Calder Cup Champion HERSHEY BEARS announced today that defensemen Tim Wedderburn and Troy Milam have been acquired from the Chicago Wolves (AHL) prior to Thursday?s American Hockey League Clear Day deadline. The announcement was made Thursday by BEARS President/GM Doug Yingst.

Wedderburn, who played for HERSHEY during the 2002-03 season, played in 73 games last season for the Wolves. He also recorded six assists and 57 penalty minutes for Chicago last season. The Okotoks, Alberta native has also played in the American Hockey League with the Utah Grizzlies during his career.

Milam comes to Chocolatetown for the first time after playing for head coach Bruce Boudreau in Manchester from 2003-05. The Lake Orion, MI native has 21 points in 31 games this season for Chicago. Both Wedderburn and Milam are expected to be available this Saturday when the BEARS play the Binghamton Senators at GIANT Center.

HERSHEY?S clear day roster for the 2007 Calder Cup Playoffs will be released Friday morning after 10:00 a.m. when all team rosters are released by the American Hockey League.

Well, it says that he's played for their coach previously, so obviously he made a good impression or his services wouldn't be requested in the lead-up to the playoffs. From what I hear he's scratched on a regular basis in CHI so hopefully this means he gets a regular shift under a coach who knows how well he's capable of playing.

Bruce Boudreau...one of the funniest-looking head shots back in the IHL when he used to coach the Ft. Wayne Komets...you just can't have long hair while you're going bald...only Benjamin Franklin was ever able to pull that off.

I am not very happy at the moment but if he gets the opportunity to play then I say Good Luck Troy!

I think it is time to make a trip home to central Pennsylvania to visit family and take in a Bears' game. Good luck Troy!

Troy had 2 assists last night and helped Hershey sweep Manchester to advance to the Calder Cup Finals. He also received Second Star of the Game. Go Milo!
